Senior Solutions staff provides unbiased information about the Medicare system at Medicare Boot Camp. In June this FREE class will be held in three locations: in Ludlow on Thursday June 16, 3-4:30 P.M., in Londonderry on Tuesday June 21, 10 A. M.-noon, and in Chester on Tuesday June 28, 10 A.M. to noon. The class is for Vermonters who are new to Medicare, and the family members who help them.

Hikers and walkers are invited to join the Chester Conservation Committee on Sunday, May 22nd at 9 am for a guided hike on the Green Mountain Nature Trail in Chester. The hike will be led by Ken Walker, Irwin and Melissa Post and Arne Joynas, longtime CCC members and part of the Lost Mine Trail development team.

This is an invitation from Chester Townscape to help make Chester beautiful by taking or sharing responsibility for watering a pot or planter. On May 26, Chester Townscape volunteers will fill pots, barrels, and planters with glorious flowers to once again brighten visible places around town. Additionally, this year boxes will be added to the south Route 103 Main Street bridge to welcome travelers to the center of town. Hanging baskets will be added at the Pinnacle Recreation Area.

The Nature Museum, in partnership with the TransCanada Corporation, will open the TransCanada Bellows Falls Fish Ladder Visitor Center on Saturday, May 28. The Visitor Center will be open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10am to 4pm. The visitor center is located in downtown Bellows Falls, next to the Post Office building on Bridge Street. Admission and programs at the Visitor Center are always free.

Join the Connecticut River Watershed Council and Art for Water in creating a "river of words" to draw attention to five major hydro-operations including Vernon, Bellows Falls, Wilder Dams to north of Hanover, NH. This public participation, community art project will tell a thousand stories urging officials to improve the ecological health and recreational opportunities of the Connecticut River.
