This workshop conducted by Tom Nielsen, will be 2-3 hours per session for 6 weeks. The first half is devoted to relaxation and sensory awareness exercises for the body and mind. These are useful tools when preparing for a role or performing on stage or film. The second half of the workshop is devoted to scene study - breaking down a script, justifying behavior, creating a character, psycho/physical behavior, listening and improvisation.

Vermont Institute of Contemporary Arts (VTica) has planned an exciting two-fold exhibit this holiday season entitled, Something to Celebrate. VTica has collaborated with The Vermont Watercolor Society (VWS) and seventeen of its members experimenting in abstract work. The VWS members were asked to depart from their figurative, literal style and submit work that is reflective.

A workshop to prepare boxes for Operation Christmas Child, an outreach ministry of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Chester, will be held in Willard Hall on Friday, October 18 from 2 to 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served, so come for an hour or longer to cut, paste, color and decorate.

SoVerA, The Southern Vermont Astronomy Group, Inc. (www.sovera.org), a professional-amateur, not-for-profit astronomy research and outreach organization based in Chester, Vermont, is debuting its fall season astronomy courses for 2013. Magic Mountain, Inc., the ski resort property at Glebe Mountain in Londonderry, will be the venue for the courses.

The Chester Conservation Committee will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7:00 pm in the Chester-Andover Elementary School. Topics for discussion include planning for the first of several informational programs, a report on the trail scouting session that will take place this Saturday, the Green Mt.
