Nearly 200 young wrestlers in grades K-8 descended on Riverside Middle School on Saturday, March 21st for the Schweitzer Memorial Youth Wrestling Tournament, the main fundraising event of the Springfield Wrestling Team. Nine of Springfield's own youth wrestlers put their best foot forward on the mats, working hard and fighting strong opponents. Mostly first-year wrestlers, the Springfield kids earned one gold medal (Kidan Nelson, grade 4) and lots of experience and personal growth -- the very things that will serve them in all aspects of life.

Share a fascinating morning of interactive learning and live owls with your family! The Nature Museum at Grafton, in partnership with the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum, is proud to present "Owls of Vermont". This program focuses on owls' amazing nocturnal adventures. We'll explore the many owl species that live in Vermont and examine the adaptations that make these raptors the supreme hunters of the night. Owl expert Mike Clough of The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum will bring live owls, touchable artifacts, and interactive demonstrations to make this an unforgettable experience.

The Springfield Community Chorus would like to invite area artists to participate in their Spring performance of Haydn's Creation. The chorus plans to produce a slide show of high quality images of area artist creations related to the theme "The Days of Creation" on which the musical piece is based. The Account of the creation story found in the Bible, Genesis, Chapter 1 and John Milton's Paradise Lost provides stirring options for visual representations. (Creation: Heavens and the Earth, Day/Night, Sun, Moon, Stars, Land/Sea, Plants, Animals (Birds, Fish of sea, All land animals, Man).

St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 313 Main Street in Chester will again offer a traditional Seder Meal, Wednesday, April 1st at 6:00 p.m. in Willard Hall. The text for the evening, the "Haggadah," includes songs, readings, and responses, along with explanations of the various symbolic foods that will be used to tell the Exodus story. Following the symbolic meal, a delicious dinner of roast lamb, chicken, goat, vegetables, and macaroons and meringues will be served.
