Black River Action Team Hosting Cyanobacteria Monitoring Training Session

The Black River Action Team is hosting a cyanobacteria (toxic blue-green algae) monitoring training session on Thursday, July 18th from 5:30 - 7 PM in Springfield, VT. Whiting Library Passes and Summer Reading Program Fun!

Celebrate Summertime at Whiting Library, located on Main Street in Chester. The Library is a great place to get books and magazines to read in your lawn chair, movies to watch on rainy days, and CDs for listening as you drive. Here at the Library there are LEGOs for building, friendly story times and a "cosmic" summer reading program! The Whiting Library's Children Department will again participate the National Collaborative Summer Library Program. This year's theme is A Universe of Stories and we hope you'll join us for some fun space-themed activities, programs, and of course, prizes this summer!

The Great Hall at One Hundred River Street Hosts Art and Science Exhibit "Our River Runs Through It: How We Connect With The Black River."

Citizen science meets art, with a touch of whimsy thrown in for good measure! For seven weeks this summer, The Great Hall at One Hundred River Street hosts an exhibit by the Black River Action Team entitled "Our River Runs Through It: How we connect with the Black River." Everyone is invited to Opening Night on Friday, June 14th from 5-7pm to browse the displays, enter to win a prize, and enjoy some delectable munchies courtesy of the students and parents of Riverside Middle School as well as sandwiches and cookies from Artisan Eats Vermont of Hartland, VT.
