In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., the First Universalist Parish of Chester will show the film "Mighty Times: The Children's March" on Friday, January 16. The 40 minute film tells the story of how the young people of Birmingham, Alabama, in 1963 brought racial segregation to its knees by standing together to brave fire hoses and police dogs. Teaching Tolerance, a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which distributes the film, recommends it for students in grade 6 and older. We recommend it for adults, too.
