This is Renata Sawyer, assistant teacher at the Saxton's River Montessori School for the past two years. As a teacher and a mother I understand families' needs for child service over vacation time. Therefore, this summer I would like to offer childcare for children, ages 3 to 8, at my house in Chester to families in Chester and surrounding areas.

Along with many fellow Chesterites, I have been following closely the Development Review Board case with regard to having a Dollar General store in Chester. I have heard no substantial arguments in favor of having one of these slick 21st century small retail boxes at the entrance into our village.

Earth Day on Sunday April 22, 10-3, is the perfect time to join other volunteers at the Lost Mine Trail Workday, organized by the Chester Conservation Committee [CCC]. This popular trail through the southernmost section of Chester's 550-acre predominantly hardwood Town Forest is two miles long and features mossy streams, a steep ravine, pine and hemlock groves, forest management areas, a high ridgeline, and an historic mine.

The Grateful Garden is looking for volunteers to fill the half-day seed sowing shifts on Thursday, April 19th and Friday, April 20th. We would like to have multiple volunteers to help out while the students come in for their 30-minute seed workshops.
