Visit Chester Townscape's Trailer at Chester's Fall Festival

posted Monday, September 5, 2022

Look for Chester Townscape's new, and very unique, plant trailer at Chester's Fall Festival on September 17 and 18. The trailer will be parked in the area next to the Information Booth and adjacent to CT's tent, where volunteers will be selling spring-flowering bulbs. The three offered varieties of daffodils will bloom at slightly different times and are top quality, hardy, easy care, shunned by deer and voles, and expected to return year after year when grown in full or part sun and in well-drained locations. The bulbs will be sold Cash and Carry from 10 AM-4 PM on both Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18. For more information about the Queen's Day, Mount Hood, and Sun Disc daffodils, visit www.chestervt.gov/chester-townscape.

For Chester Townscape's plant-delivery needs, a standard trailer was modified and embellished by CT member Stu Stocker to provide a covered trailer that would allow the many planters and bridge boxes that Townscape fills with flowers to be protected while the planted containers are delivered to public and private locations around town.

At the bulb table, Townscape's free brochures for the Main Street and the Stone Village/Depot walking tours will be available. Volunteers will also be raffling a garden pot for 2023 display in some lucky person's front yard. All sales help support Chester Townscape's seasonal floral displays, which will be changed in a few weeks to a fall theme displaying combinations of pumpkins, mums, flowering kale, and corn stalks at public locations. the Queen's Day, Mount Hood, and Sun Disc daffodil offers may be downloaded from www.chestervt.gov/chester-townscape. These decorations beautify Chester and make it a handsome place in which to live and visit. Chester Townscape is a committee of Chester Community Alliance, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
