La Voz de Tres performs at VTica

Friday, May 25 @ 8pm
The Vermont Institute Of Contemporary Arts is delighted to present in concert the sensational South American music of La Voz de Tres.

This dynamic trio from New York City blends the infectious rhythms and nuanced songwriting traditions of Brazil, Chile, Cuba and other Latin American countries with the spontaneous and exhilarating improvisation and interplay of jazz. Having immersed themselves in the cultures from which they draw their inspiration, Chilean Vocalist Natalia Bernal, Keyboardist Mike Eckroth (of John Scofield's New Quartet) and Seven-string Guitarist Jason Ennis put their unique stamp on familiar bossa-novas, boleros, tangos, Andean folk tunes, jazz standards and original compositions, weaving an intriguing cross-cultural tapestry. Bernal, Eckroth and Ennis released their first CD, "La Voz de Tres," in September 2010.
