Black River Action Team Invites Everyone To Participate In 2nd Annual Black River BioBlitz

posted Tuesday, July 2, 2019

The Black River Action Team invites everyone to participate in family-friendly fun and citizen science in Springfield, VT! Guided walks, exhibit booths, kid-friendly activities and displays. NO PETS, please. Wear sun and biting insect protection. From noon until 5pm on Saturday, July 27th you'll learn about fish and other aquatic flora and fauna at Hoyt's Landing public access by the Route 11 bridge over the CT River; join us for a night-time session at the end of Park Farm Rd at 8pm (featuring owls with VINS and moths with the VT Entomological Society); then pick up the action the next morning at 9am at Muckross State Park, and visit with turtles, take a forest walk, and meet some mussels! Leave your car at the Exit 7 Park & Ride and let us shuttle you up to the Muckross State Park. Take photos, upload your observations to our project page at iNaturalist, let scientists help with the identification, and help us build an inventory of flora and fauna.

Visit the following links for more information and to sign up for this free, family-friendly event (a $10 donation scores you a sweet 'swag bag' and button).
