Chester-Andover Family Center News

posted Tuesday, June 19, 2018

At its annual meeting on June 11, the CAFC board of directors elected a new slate of officers to lead the center over the next year. Elected were President Stephanie Mahoney, Vice-President Kris Winnicki, Secretary Georgia Ethier, Treasurer Mariette Bock and Assistant Treasurer Suellen Slater.

We would also like to announce our new Thrift Shop Management Team; Ginger Roper, Mariette Bock and Kris Winnicki. The Thrift Shop does not anticipate major changes at this time and will maintain regular hours of operation; Thursdays and Fridays from 10-4 and Saturdays from 10-3. Summer clothing and household items for warm weather entertaining and camping are in stock so please come down to shop. When you make a purchase in our Thrift Shop you are helping us purchase food for our Food Shelf and maintain our Financial Assistance Program which helps families with heat, electricity, rent and other expenses essential to their wellbeing.

The community can support Family Center Programs by participating in the Stone Hearth Hot Dog Cook Off Fundraiser on August 12, from 1-4. This is a special community fundraiser for the Family Center and the Chester Recreation Department. Please save the date and join us at the Stone Hearth for music, games, the famous CAFC Silent Auction and Gift Basket Raffle and all the hot dogs you can eat. Last year's Cook-Off Champion, Billy Bob, served up the "Big Easy," his New Orleans version of what a hot dog should be.
