Updates About Music in the Meadow, Taking Place June 23 and 24

posted Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Dear Friends & Family,

Something big is about to happen here. For the last 10 years (with a LOT of help) I have been working to make the Music in the Meadow a really big event. This year is really exciting. At our meeting (yes, I have a real committee of local friends), Brian Waldo announced that radio station WWOD Classic Oldies 104.3 & 96.3 will not only be giving us free advertising daily but they will be here from 12-2pm on the 23rd broadcasting live from the meadow. You will also hear the promotional messages on The WOLF Country 107.1 & 95.3.

This year's concert is made up of Vermont musicians donating their time and talent making another part of this dream complete.

As you know this event has been my baby and is held each year in honor of my friend Joyce Francis Murphy, who died way too soon. The Race for the Cure has been the beneficiary since its inception.

If you can make it, the concert is JUNE 23 & 24. There will be not only great music but lots of food for purchase by the Country Store of Ludlow (ribs, pulled pork, etc), Amy Turco from Papa John's Sugar Shack (maple cotton candy), Steven Shell's food trailer (burgers, dogs, french fries) and homemade ice cream from the Walpole Creamery. Also available fried dough, popcorn and snow cones. Green Mtn. Classic Cars & the NE Dukes will display their cars. The list goes on but you get the idea and that's just Saturday.

Sunday we have music, brunch and the drawing for the $1200 quilt, 100 gallons of heating oil and a beautiful wall hanging quilt. All donated. We have moved to June because it conflicted with so many other events.

If you can't come we will gladly accept a donation. Make checks payable to Komen Race for the Cure.

All my love and appreciation.

Pat
