Chester Area Artists Welcome You To Their Studios Memorial Day Weekend

posted Thursday, May 17, 2012

Attracting visitors to your area is an interesting challenge especially it being the 20th year of Vermont Crafts Council Open Studio Weekend. There are so many artistic pockets in Vermont to visit during this big May event on Memorial Day Weekend, Sat., and Sun., May 26 and 27 when artists welcome visitors into their homes and galleries to make a connection. However, the Chester-Andover group believes it offers a wonderful selection of art and crafts within a small ten-mile circle - a new contemporary art gallery, cloth dolls, blown glass, abstract art, watercolor and oil paintings, and turned wooden vessels.

Who are the artists and how do you find them? Here's a glimpse in the glass showcase at the Vermont Welcome Center in Guilford, Nos. 20 to 25. Just follow those familiar yellow signs to visit Bonnie Watters at #20 Bonnie's Bundles Dolls in the Stone Village, see the featured artist Jeanne Carbonetti at #21 VTica, among others; Scott Morgan at #22 WaterMusicArt, on Chester's Main Street, Nick Kekic at #23 Tsuga Studios on Goldthwaite Road off Rte 11w, and then to #24 Robert Sydorowich's Vermont paintings in Andover on East Hill, and #25 Rich DeTrano continuing on the same road toward Ludlow.

One can easily visit them all in a day, so make your first choice to visit Chester. More information and a free local map are available at:
