Walter Meyer from Mary Meyer Manufacturing Company at the Fullerton Inn

posted Wednesday, June 21, 2017

The Chester Rotary Club is pleased to announce that on Thursday, July 6th, Walter Meyer from Mary Meyer Manufacturing Company will be the guest speaker at the Fullerton Inn. The program goes from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar is available.

Mary Meyer is famous internationally for designing and selling teddy bears and other soft toys from its headquarters in Townsend, Vermont. The company is truly a "family business"; a three generational composite of loyalty, labor and love.

Walter Meyer is the son of founders Hans and Mary Meyer. The company was founded in 1933 in New York City and relocated to Vermont in 1948. By 1960, Walter was co-managing the company with his mother and continued to do so for 25 years. Walter Meyer has replaced himself at the helm with four of his six offspring but still plays a very active role in all aspects of the company.

Walter is a passionate speaker who will enlighten us about how he has built and maintained a successful family business in Vermont.

The meeting is open to the general public so please join Chester Rotary Club for this exciting event. For planning purposes, please RSVP to [email protected].
