Run the Gauntlet for Springfield Wrestlers

posted Saturday, July 16, 2016

The 2nd Annual "Color Gauntlet" Wrestling 5K takes place on Saturday, October 1st on a scenic, out-and-back course on the Toonerville Trail along the Black River in Springfield, VT. This fun "color run" is a family-friendly untimed 5K run or walk. "Gauntleteers" will be festooned with colored cornstarch powder along the course. Upon returning to the start/finish line, participants can purchase delicious lunch items from the Outnumbered Grill, who will be donating the proceeds of all sales to the wrestling team.

Participants may begin to arrive at 9:30AM at the registration table at 290 Clinton St in Springfield, VT, SRDC's parking lot next to Nortrax, the John Deere tractor dealership. The starting whistle blows at 11:00AM.

Registration fee includes a "Color Gauntlet" Wrestling 5K t-shirt, sunglasses, and a bag of colored powder. The fee is $25.00 per person on or before August 1, 2016 and $35.00 thereafter, up to and including race day. Children 10 and under are free but will not receive a souvenir t-shirt, sunglasses, or color powder (these items can be purchased separately on the day of the race). All proceeds will help fund tournament entrance fees, wrestling gear, and wrestling equipment for the Springfield VT Wrestling Team, a non-profit organization supporting a thriving local youth wrestling program for boys and girls in grades K-12.
