Summer camp can do wonders for kids' self-confidence and independence, not to mention being a blast for both of you (hello kid-free time!). Campers venture to forests, streams and ponds with seasoned Environmental Educators which put them in tune with the natural world. Discovery Days. Thursdays, 10 AM to Noon, June 16 to August 11, ages 5-8.
If your kid's going to camp for the first time, Discovery Days is the perfect adventure. Discovery Days offers kids their first taste of summer camp for just a couple of hours at a time. Through engaging hands-on games and outdoor explorations, each Thursday morning we will discover a new facet of the natural world. Kids can come once or become a full-fledged Nature Museum Junior Naturalist by attending regularly. 3-4 year-olds may also join if accompanied by a guardian. Discovery Days is $8 per session when preregistered online, and $10 at the door. Space is limited, so sign up early.

Brave Bears Summer Camp. July 11-15, and July 25-29, 9:30AM to 3PM, ages 6-9.
Learn about the animals and critters that inhabit the land surrounding The Nature Museum. You can look forward to your child relishing in some unplugged nature play plus joining in traditional camp activities alongside The Nature Museum's trained Environmental Educators. Campers will enjoy hands-on activities, crafts, games, and outdoor exploration during each session. Youth will encounter our Guest Biologists, who have made valuable careers out of their love of nature. This week long Brave Bears Summer Camp is offered during two different sessions in July. Each week-long camp costs $180 with early-bird registration; $200 after.

Wild Walkers - Wilderness: A Way of Life. Tuesday, August 9, 9:30AM to 3:30PM, ages 10-14.
In this day-long adventure, a partnership between The Nature Museum and Vermont Wilderness School, youth age 10 to 14 will explore their senses while outdoors in nature. The Wild Walkers will learn outdoor knife skills, carving, whittling, and fire skills which they will use to create a coal-burned spoon or a carved-bow drill set. These primary survival skills will be taught with safety in mind and with the utmost respect for the tools that will be used. The campers will gain a new-found sense of accomplishment and confidence in their new wilderness survival abilities.

We'll track animals, explore wild crafting, make fires, cook outdoors, and learn to navigate in the wilderness. Experienced Vermont Wilderness School instructors guide kids in a safe, fun, and respectful experience that's close to the earth. They'll build self-confidence and resilience while learning ancient wilderness skills. This one-day camp is $35 per camper for early-bird registration before July 29; $40 after July 29.
