Blessing of the Pets at St. Luke's Episcopal Church

posted Friday, September 25, 2015

This year St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Main Street in Chester is offering two opportunities to bring your pets for a special blessing on the side lawn at St. Luke's: Saturday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. or on Sunday, October 4 at 4:00 p.m. The church school children will be making biscuits for pets and cookies for their owners. All pets and their owners in the surrounding communities are invited to participate in this service to honor and give thanks for the special role pets play in our daily lives. In addition to receiving a blessing by our priest, Rev. Heidi L. Edson each pet will also receive a St. Francis pet medallion. In the event of rain, the blessing will be held in Willard Hall. Rev. Heidi's cat Thundarr welcomes cats and dogs alike.
