Preschool Natural Science Programs in Grafton

posted Monday, January 5, 2015

Join a community of proud parents and budding environmentalists and scientists with The Nature Museum at Grafton's Mighty Acorns Preschool Explorers Club! These creative, exploratory preschool programs celebrate curiosity and encourage a love and respect for the natural world.

January's program, "Who's At My Birdfeeder?," explores the world of our feathered friends through games, puzzles and binocular observations at the Museum's bird feeding station. In February's "Big Feet, Little Feet: Winter Tracking," children will begin indoors with animal movement activities and games. After donning snowshoes, the adventure will head outside for animal tracking and fun in the snow. (Children's snowshoes provided, but limited numbers of adult snowshoes available. Please bring your own if possible.) "Dinosaurs Big and Little," the March program for preschoolers, invites children to become archeologists and discover what makes a prehistoric animal a dinosaur. Highlights include a puppet show and a treasure hunt in the Village Park.

Mighty Acorns meets from 10:00 to 11:30 AM on the third Thursday of each month from September through June. Children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers join experienced and energetic environmental educators at The Nature Museum at 186 Townsend Road in Grafton, VT. Programs often include time outside in The Nature Museum's grounds and gardens; dress for all weather! These programs cost $5 per child.
