Happenings at the Whiting Library in September

posted Friday, September 13, 2013

The Whiting Library is pleased to announce three very exciting things coming up in the month of September.

First, Library Card Sign-Up Week will be held this year from September 16-21. Brand new patrons will receive, in addition to their fabulous new library card and all the amazing benefits it confers, a goodie bag, complete with a Get Out of Jail Free card, good for the magic disappearance of one overdue fee (there's some small print on the back of the card).

Second, starting September 16th, all patrons of the library may present their Whiting Library card at Misty Valley Books on Mondays to receive a 10% discount on regularly priced books and merchandise. Offer will extend until the end of the year. Please ask Lynne, Bill or any of their fantastic staff for details.

Finally, the Whiting Library will once again be celebrating National Banned Books Week. This year, the celebration lasts from September 22-28. Please stop by the library to learn more about banned and challenged books, the Second Amendment, and to take out some banned books and decide for yourself.
