Register By November 9 For Early-Bird Discount On Holiday Wreath-Decorating Workshops

posted Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Get ready for the holidays with friends and families by decorating a full 22" pre-made evergreen wreath with a variety of specially collected greens, natural materials, bows, and other decorations, plus all the wire, glue guns, and equipment necessary to make the decorating fun and successful. Open to the public, the workshops will take place on November 16 and 17 in Willard Hall below St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 313 Main Street (Route 11 West, next to the Moon Dog Café) in Chester, VT. The event will benefit both the church and the Chester Conservation Committee.

Space is limited, so people must pre-register by contacting Lillian Willis. Choose from three different workshop sessions on Friday, November 16: 9:30-11:00 AM, 1:00-2:30 PM, and 7:00-8:30 PM. Or sign up for the Saturday morning workshop 9:00-10:30 AM on November 17. Each session will offer homemade refreshments, great camaraderie, and all the essentials to create a very personal, one-of-a-kind wreath. Men and women are welcome to come alone or to register with a friend or group.

A $5 early-bird discount will apply to those who pre-register and pay $30 by November 9. After November 9, the price per wreath will be $35, the same as last year. Checks should be made out to St. Luke's Church, designated for the wreath workshop, and mailed to PO Box 318, Chester, VT 05143.

Participants are encouraged to bring glue guns, clippers or wire cutters to lend for the workshops, or special ribbons, decorations, or natural materials to donate - such as shells, unusual pine cones, berries (bayberries, juniper, winterberry, etc.), milkweed pods, and any evergreens (white or Scotch pine, holly, boxwood, blue spruce, cedar, juniper, arborvitae, rhododendron, etc.). To lend or donate equipment or materials, or for further information and reservations, please contact Lillian Willis at 802-875-1340 or [email protected].

This is a great opportunity for people to support two good causes, start getting ready for the holidays, and have fun doing it! A limited number of one-of-a-kind decorated 22" wreaths will be for sale on Saturday November 17 and Sunday November 18 at the church.
